Nch’ḵay̓ and the Squamish Nation have a strong governance structure in place to ensure close alignment between the Nation and its economic development arm, particularly around financial decision-making.
These intricately carved yellow cedar paddles brighten up the kitchen at our Head Office, featuring a thunderbird, salmon, eagle, orca, and raven.
Since 2023, we’ve conducted an annual Engagement Survey of our teams, whose results help us support their personal and professional growth, and reach our goals together. Our 2024 results are in—view them here.

As the Squamish Nation’s economic development arm, we recognize that our workplace and mandate are unique, and we do things differently from other businesses and organizations. We’re sometimes asked whether specialized skills or education are required to join our team—here’s the answer.
Nch’ḵay̓’s values are Squamish Nation values. One of these values is wanáxws, which means ‘to respect someone or treat someone with respect’ in our Sḵwx̱wú7mesh sníchim (Squamish language). It can also mean ‘to honour or believe in someone.’
