Nch’ḵaỷ Development Corporation (NDC) was established in 2018 as the economic development arm of the Squamish Nation – Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw. The Information Systems Support (IS Support) is a Permanent Full-Time position based at Nch’ḵaỷ’s Head Office. Our Head Office is in West Vancouver, BC on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sḵw̱xwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and its people. Scope of the Position

As an Information Systems Support at Nch’kay, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic vision and successful implementation of our Human Capital Management (HCM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. This position requires implementing UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) and a yet-to-be-decided ERP system (SAP ByDesign, Microsoft Dynamics F&O, or Oracle NetSuite), coupled with providing expert Application Support. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, execute data migration projects, enhance reporting capabilities, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

 

A. Duties, Responsibilities, Authority, and Accountabilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Execute the strategic vision for integrating HCM and ERP systems, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to enhance reporting and dashboard capabilities, providing insights into key performance metrics and facilitating data-driven decision-making.

 

Data Management and HCM, ERP System Administration

  • Lead the planning and execution of data migration projects, ensuring a seamless transition from legacy systems to the new HCM and ERP platforms.
  • Oversee system configuration efforts, implementing customizations to meet unique organizational requirements, such as custom data fields or workflow automation.

 

Implementation and Post-Go-Live Excellence

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams during the implementation phase, ensuring effective communication, adherence to timelines, and resolution of challenges.
  • Establish a robust post-go-live support framework, including the creation of user guides, training programs, and a dedicated support channel for end-users.

 

Data Analysis and Reporting Expertise

  • Utilize advanced data analytics tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms, to create real-time dashboards for executive leadership, providing insights into key performance metrics and enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Implement a data governance framework, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with industry regulations.

 

Application Support

  • Provide support for applications, addressing technical issues escalated from the help desk across the organization.
  • Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve application-related problems, ensuring minimal impact on end-users.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Facilitate regular meetings between IT, HR, Finance, Business Development, Real estate, and other business units to gather feedback, understand pain points, and align technology initiatives with overall business strategies.
  • Establish a collaborative platform for end-users across different departments to share insights and recommendations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Director, Information Technology


D. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Proven leadership experience in Information Systems, demonstrating the ability to successfully drive and implement HCM and ERP initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of data management best practices, including data cleansing, normalization, and migration techniques.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms, with a track record of creating actionable reports and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with UKG and at least one of the following ERP systems: SAP ByDesign, Microsoft Dynamics F&O, or Oracle NetSuite.
  • Successful track record in system configuration, workflow setup, and post-go-live support.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Proven experience in Application Support, including collaborating with vendors and addressing escalated technical issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a rapidly growing IT environment.

  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Previous experience working with First Nations is an asset; a strong desire to learn about and uphold Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values and teachings in a respectful manner is essential for this role.

E. Special Requirements

  • Occasional requirement to work in the evenings and on weekends. 
  • Occasional travel may be required.
