JOINING OUR TEAM

The Cleaner is a Casual position based at Capilano River RV Park in West Vancouver, BC on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sḵw̱xwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and its people. You will be working towards generating wealth and prosperity for the people of the Squamish Nation.

Scope of the Position

The Cleaner at the Capilano River RV Park (Cap RV) is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across various areas within the park premises. This role involves ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. The Cleaner will perform routine cleaning tasks, respond to immediate cleanup needs, and contribute to overall customer satisfaction by upholding high standards of cleanliness.

Salary: $24.08 – Duration: May 15 to October 15 – Address: 295 Tomahawk Ave, West Vancouver, BC V7P 1C5

A. Duties, Responsibilities, Authority, and Accountabilities 

  • Cleaning Facilities
  • Perform regular cleaning tasks in public areas, including restrooms, laundry facilities, recreational areas, and common spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, showers, and mirrors.
  • Empty trash bins and replace liners as needed.

  • Site Maintenance
  • Assist in maintaining the exterior cleanliness of the RV park, including sidewalks, picnic areas, and outdoor amenities.
  • Monitor and remove litter or debris from the grounds to ensure a tidy appearance.
  • Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to the appropriate supervisor.

  • Guest Services Support
  • Provide assistance and information to guests as needed, including directions, RV park policies, and amenities.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests or concerns regarding cleanliness, ensuring a positive guest experience.

  • Compliance and Safety
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of cleaning chemicals.
  • Follow established protocols for infection control and sanitation procedures, especially during times of heightened health concerns.
  • Maintain awareness of potential safety hazards and report any incidents or concerns to management.

  • Team Collaboration
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure efficient and thorough cleaning schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to address any issues or challenges related to cleanliness and maintenance.

B. Other

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive workplace culture.
  • Perform other duties as required.

C. Reporting Responsibilities and Authorities from Supervisor

  • Reports to General Manager

 

D. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial services preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Experience working with First Nations is an asset.

E. Working Conditions

  • This role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions.
  • This role needs flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays as needed.
