Green Pine Indigenous Cleaning Services is owned and operated by Angela Baker, an entrepreneur who started cleaning part time on her own for extra cash over 20 years ago. Five years later, Angela Worked for a big company in South Vancouver, and in 2016 when her first baby was 16 months old, Angela went to work part time for a well-established cleaning company in West Vancouver.

When Angela’s community members found out she was working at a cleaning company, she was asked to clean for one person on the weekends on-reserve, which led to more clients. Angela found out about the business grants through the Squamish Nation and Nch’ḵay̓ but did not think much of it until a family member bugged Angela for almost a year start her own business and to check out the business grants.

With help from the grants, finally, Angela’s business started very small and it started growing until COVID-19 put a stop to business for a couple years. Business is growing rapidly now.
