Nch’ḵaỷ Development Corporation (NDC) was established in 2018 as the economic development arm of the Squamish Nation – Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw. Nch’ḵaỷ’s mandate is to develop, manage, and own the active businesses of the Nation and was created to allow for the separation of business and politics within the Squamish Nation.

The Junior Business Analyst is a Term Full-Time, 9 to 12 Months, position based at Nch’ḵaỷ’s Head Office. Our Head Office is in West Vancouver, BC on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sḵw̱xwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and its people. Scope of the Position

The Junior Business Analyst (JBA) plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation and ongoing success of new Human Capital Management (HCM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The JBA will work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organization to ensure a smooth transition, effective training, and user adoption of these systems.

A. Duties, Responsibilities, Authority, and Accountabilities

Process Documentation

  • Build and maintain comprehensive process documentation and flowcharts for HCM and ERP functionalities.
  • Identify and document process gaps and improvement opportunities.

Training and Support

  • Maintain training plans and materials for end-users on HCM and ERP system functionalities and internal tools (Planner).
  • Conduct engaging and effective training sessions for users on system functionalities and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing support to users including troubleshooting assistance, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues related to HCM and ERP usage.

System Testing

  • Collaborate with the testing team to create test scenarios for HCM and ERP systems.
  • Participate in system testing activities and assist users in testing functionalities

Change Management and Communication

  • Support change management activities to minimize disruption and ensure user adoption of the new systems.
  • Assist in developing clear and concise internal communication materials regarding the systems implementation and updates.
  • Work closely with the communication team to coordinate the successful implementation of the communication strategy.

Project Coordination

  • Assist the Project Manager with various tasks including scheduling and taking minutes of meetings.
  • Develop and maintain project documents such as budget trackers, project health reports, project status reports, and log of risks and issues (RID Log).
  • Manage and maintain project artifacts including the communication plan, stakeholder register, and scope matrix.

Document Management

  • Provide support with document management systems related to HCM and ERP projects.
  • Advocate for and implement best practices for document management within the project.

  • Perform other duties as required.

C. Reporting Responsibilities and Authorities from Supervisor

  • Project Manager, Information Technology

D. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Information Systems, or a related field (preferred),
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Basic understanding of HCM and ERP systems a plus,
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) a plus
  • Must be a fast learner, have adaptability skills, and pay great attention to detail,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Planner,
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience in supporting cross-functional teams
  • Strong people skills and the ability to build productive and respectful working relationships with colleagues and senior management.
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Previous experience working with First Nations is an asset; a strong desire to learn about and uphold Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values and teachings in a respectful manner is essential for this role.

E. Special Requirements

  • Occasional requirement to work in the evenings and on weekends. 
  • Occasional travel may be required.
